The opera "Les Troyens" received its first performance on 4 November 1863 at the recently opened Théatre-Lyrique; but in a truncated form, the theater being too small (the work was intended for the Opéra de Paris).
What we have here are some extracts of the version realized by Berlioz in two parts:
"La Prise de Troie" (acts 1 & 2 of the opera) and "Les Troyens Carthage" (acts 3, 4 & 5 of the opera).
