Although billed as a solo Anna Netrebko disc this is, in fact, a highlights selection from the critically acclaimed 2005 production of La Traviata. Not that this is a problem for there's enough good tunes and fabulous duets in Verdi's masterpiece to keep even the newest inductee into the world of opera immediately enthralled. With superb tenor Rolando Villazon playing Netrebko's stage love interest it all results in a tremendous album and a terrific introduction to one of the jewels of of operatic repertoire.
